Exclamation Backing up BB8310 using Desktop Manager

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

I have looked in the forums for a solution but I have not been successful.

I am running the latest OS v4.5.0.81 on BB8310 and v4.6.0.12 Desktop Manager.

I am trying to run a full backup of my BB8310 and I have tried the following:-
1. Back up all device application data
2. Back up all device application data except for Messages & Application data that is synchronized with an organizer application on my computer.

In both cases, I have cleaned my memory, and cleared the browser cache.

The back up always failed when backing up the Key Store Option database. I have changed the option "Allow Key Store Backup/Restore" to both "Yes" & "No" - still no success.

I also tried using the Advanced Backup functions, and de-selected Key Store Option database. The backup would skip that database, but would subsequently fail on other databases. I continued to de-select the databases that failed, and finally it doesn't make sense anymore as many of the databases would not have been backed up.

I like to know if anybody is also facing this issue. I know one of the remedies is to downgrade the BB OS but I really like the most up-to-date OS running on my BB.

I had some issues backup up, and I cleared the Browser Data Cache on the handheld (using Advanced - as you've started using) an the backup ran.

Not sure if this will help you, but giveit a shot!

Hi NJBlackberry,

Thanks for trying to help.

I cleared my Browser Cache by going into Browser, then via Options -> Cache Operations, and clear everything.

I tried looking from Home Screen --> Options --> Advanced Options --> Browser but do not find an option to clear the Browser data cache.

I also tried looking from Home Screen --> Options --> Advanced Options --> Browser Push but do not find an option to clear the Browser data cache.

Thanks,
Andrew

You clear it via Desktop Manager - Backup.

Go into DM - Backup
Click on "Advanced"

Find the database there and click on Clear.

Then try a backup.

Thumbs up

Hi NJBlackberry

You are awesome - it works!

All I have to do is go to Desktop Manager (DM), choose Backup and Restore --> Advanced.

Select the "Browser Data Cache" device database

Press the CLEAR button.

Then try to do a full backup!
