Default Blackberry 9700 AT&T compatible on Rogers' 3G network?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi, I'm with Rogers and I've recently purchased a T-Mobile unlocked 9700, obviously I figured out the 3G is not working on it, searched over the internet and found out on this forum that T-Mobile does not use the same bands as Rogers... Now I've sold the 9700 but can anybody tell me if I buy a unlocked AT&T 9700 will I be able to use all the functions over here in Canada without any problem? With T-Mobile, I only got Edge and not 3G.. Thank you so much.

Yes, an AT&T 9700 will work on rogers for 3G.

Just want to tell you my experience of doing exactly this. I just bought an AT&T BB9700 in the states and brought it up here and popped in my Rogers SIM after buying an unlock code (got one off Ebay). I could use 3G but couldn't make outgoing calls until I turned off 3G. Apparently this is due to my sim card being a 4000 series sim card. You can look at this link for further details and another way around the 4000 series SIM card issue.

Good luck! The AT&T deal was great - $400 is pretty cheap for a contract free BB9700.
