When i got my new berry i switched from att&t and ported my number over to sprint, can anyone tell me how to get the temporary number they gave me off of the display and change it to the correct number?

You may have to call BB support to get the programming info, then you should be able to change the number

Go to Options>Device>Advanced>SIM Card and Press Menu and then Edit Sim Phone Number.

I am not sure if this will work, since sprint is a CDMA/iDEN network and your phone quite possibly won't have this facility to do this, although it is worth a try, and if successful will fix your problem.

Alternatively you could just hide the number completely, On the dialer/call screen, Options>Call Logs and Lists, and untick Show My Number.

Just a quick note as to what i found out about this from Sprint, i now have the fix to the problem, I did find out that by not having my number on the screen that all of my voicemails were going to my number that i had ported over but they were not making it to my phone after 2 weeks of no voicemails i got to wondering why no one would leave a message, then when i called my number from the berry myself i had 108 voicemails, the fix is this from the dial screen dial ##841648 then hit the send button it will take you into the menu to change your number simply delete the temporary number enter yours then with the trackpad click save you actually have to do it with the trackpad to save, thats the fix for sprint, I am going back to at&t but thought i would let you know if anyone had this same problem
