Default Desktop Manager 6

Please Login to Remove!

Hi. I've just installed Desktop Manager 6 on my PC, and I find out I still receives emails on my Blackberry even though my BB was connected to the PC. On version 5, there is an option called "turn off email message redirection while my device is connected to my computer" which stops my BB to receive emails while it is connected to my PC. Does desktop manager 6 has the same option? Or is there any way that I can stop my BB from receiving emails while it is connected to the PC? Thank you.

Are you using Redirector to get email to your BB?

Hi. No, I am not using a Redirector to get the emails, all the emails goes through the company's BES server.

Since you are on BES, I am moving this to the BES Admin section. Have you spoken to your BES Admin about using DM 6? Is it allowed by company policy?

Unfortunately, DM 6 doesn't have this option. Although I never used it, I'm not sure why RIM would not roll it forward from version 5.

That's what I though so. I looked everything on Desktop Manager 6 and I couldn't find it. I couldn't find the Re-Director either. I am using Torch 9800, by any chance is this option reside on the Blackberry itself?

You can change the option via BAS - or someone with access to it can. In BAS choose the user - click Default Configuration and the option Redirect when in Cradle is on the first tab. I haven't tested

Not that I know of, but you may want to ask over in the OS6 forum.

This does work - I tested with one of my users (BES 5) and he no longer gets email delivered when connected and desktop manager (6) is running. I got a free lunch out of this one he was so happy!
