Default Buttons not working

Please Login to Remove!

So two months ago my buttons on my blackberry stopped working but it seemed as though it thought that certain buttons were being constantly pressed because when it would sit in Lock mode the light would keep turning on, and if i would ever get a button to work it would start typing other random buttons that i was not touching. So i sent the blackberry away to get fixed and it took them over a month to send it back and when they finally did it worked for 10 minutes and then continued to do the same thing. I sent it back again and it took another full month before they finally "fixed" it and sent it back and it did the exact same thing. Now I have been playing around with it trying to fix it myself and i have noticed that if i hold down my B key, i everything else responds perfectly:S but obviously that is way to inconvenient to keep doing. I have checked some other forum posts with similar problems and they all say they had water damage but mine never had water damage, i checked the thing on the battery and beside the sim card and both show that i have had no water damage done to my phone. Does anybody know how to fix this?

Not sure who you sent it to, but it seems like they haven't done anything.

Take the battery out; put the BB in a bag of rice for 3-4 days. Just in case there is some moisture inside.

Is it still under warrantee? If so try to get it replaced by the carrier.

It's under warranty for repair but i don't think they will replace it. I tried putting it in front of my window fan all last night and then this morning when i put the battery back in and tried again it worked for the first 2 clicks of the trackball and then went back to only working if i'm holding down 'b'. So i guess i will try the "putting in bag of rice" suggestion since it seems like there might be some moisture trapped deep in there

Well, I left it in a bag of rice without the battery in it for 3 days and when i put the battery back in it worked for about 5-10 minutes and then went back to only working when i hold B down :\

Checking the liquid indicator on the battery won't necesarily tell you if there is moisture damage on the keypad as it is on the oposite side of the phone. It does sound like liquid damage to me. Most carriers don't cover that sort thing without a deductible so if you're up to the task... run to a hardware store and pick up some denatured alcohol, open the phone and go to town on that keypad with a small brush. You shouldn't have a problem finding a "how to" video on a Tour take apart. Good luck.
