No, it wouldn't. The Tour doesn't have the T-Mobile 3G bands in it. You would only get EDGE speeds if you unlocked it and used it on T-Mobile.

rafise - at this time T-Mobile doesn't offer any BlackBerrys that operate on their 3G network.

T-Mobile has UMTS dual-band global 3G (1700/2100 MHz)

The Tour (9630) has CDMA 800/1900, GSM 850/900/1800/1900, UMTS 2100, but it will not work on 3G on T-Mobile's network.

The T-Mobile bands are linked, so you need them both, if I understand it correctly.

I don't think it will work on AT&T's 3G either.

The Tour will only get 3G when used on overseas GSM providers. When used on GSM providers here in the states it will only do 2G.

T-mobile 3G faqs show:

What frequency does your 3G network support?
Our 3G network supports both the 1700MHz and 2100MHz frequencies.

Tmobile as been expanding its 3G deployment. verizon BB Tour 9630 has UMTS 2100 Mhz transmitter. T-mobile site says T-mobile 3G supports both the 1700MHz and 2100MHz frequencies. Has situation changed so far as getting a verizon BB Tour 9630 to access Tmobile 3G data?

No.
The 9630 does not and will never work on 3G on T-Mobile or AT&T.

So, if I have an unlocked verizon tour 9630, it WILL work on tmobile at the same speed as my pearl currently work? Will all other tour features work. Has anyone used an unlocked verizon tour on tmobile? Thanks

It will work like your Pearl as far as speed goes, that is to say EDGE at best.

Folks are using unlocked Tours on GSM carriers everywhere. You should get full BB features as long as you have a T-Mobile BlackBerry data plan.
