Default .113 or .132 OTA?

Please Login to Remove!

Is there anywhere that I can download either of these OS upgrades OTA for my 9530?

No. You must use a Windows-based PC to load new firmware to your device.

This is how I have done both upgrades on my 9530, but why is there an option for OTA updates in the advanced menu if it cannot be used? Just curious...

The capability is in the software should VZW decide to release an update. Currently there isn't anything available from VZW to download.

I would just stick to downloading the files and upgrading, much better in my opinion

Looks like ALL of you misunderstood his question completely.

Your answer BulletSponge62485 is YES.

You can download .132 from Crackberry. I am currently running it in my phone. I upgraded from .103 last week. These newbies are unfamiliar with beta OS programs.

Once you download the program, the easiest way to load is to use your DM program which came in the box with your phone. It is currently only Windows based. Just install it and back up your phone. Then follow the instructions in the top of the 9500 section in this forum for uploading beta software to your 9530.

If you are still in the stone ages and running .75 on your Storm you are going to notice a DRASTIC difference in phone operation. Also, there are a bunch of great features that will come with the upgrade.

Quit waiting around for VZW to decide on when to upgrade the OS. .75 is a dawg

I don't think the OP's question was misunderstood completely by anyone. He asked if the upgrades could be downloaded "OTA". No, they cannot be downloaded Over The Air direct to your device.

And we don't have to go to CB to download it, its right here at BlackBerryNews.com.

I just downloaded and installed .132 (upgraded from .75). I must say, it is amazing, almost like I got a whole new phone!

Did you have to resend service books to get it to work?

No, not that I am aware of. The phone had to be signed back in to everything though. And I get an email welcoming me to verizon like when I first got my phone, and things like that. So I would say it is possible that it did it on its own.

I'm a noob on these fancy phones, so forgive me, but what do you mean by "the phone had to be signed back in to everything"?

Sort of. Once I installed the upgrade I had to sign back in to all my apps, like TwitterBerry, YouMail, and things like that. Normally all of those things save my log on info. And like I said, I got the "welcome to Verizon" email again like I did when the phone was first activated. It was very easy to upgrade though. Download the new OS, plug the phone into the computer and the desktop manager just kicked on and said, "There is an upgrade" and I let it install. It took some time, but when it was done it did everything for me. I really highly recommend upgrading, especially if you are still on the .75 like I was. The difference is night and day.
