Default Lotus Notes Journals on Blackberry

Please Login to Remove!

Hello all,

For those of you who are familiar with a Domino environment, how can a user access their journal entries within Lotus Notes, and visa versa? We're having an issue of a user creating a journal entry and it not looking the same, either on the BB or in Notes.

Thank you in advance for your help

Are you talking BES or BIS? With BIS, you have to use Desktop Manager to sync manually. Create the Journal.nsf database on the local drive and in the configuration of the Desktop Manager/Intellisync, make sure it points to that file. Works great for me.

If you're talking about a server based Journal file and synching that through BES, I do not know.

In my company the default BES did not map the MemoPad to my Notes Journal. I made a quick call the BES administrators and they connected the dots. Now everything syncs fine.

Synch'ing Journal with Notes is not an automatic process at this time. It must be done manually. It will synch over the air once you have initiated the process on your local Notes client and then done a replication.

With your mail file open, select Actions/Domino Web Access/Synchronize Journal. This process takes copies of your local Journal files and copies them into your mail file. Then on replication when your local replica synchs with the server copy of your mail file, your journal notes will be sent up as well. The BES can then forward them to your BB.

Note that in Notes/Domino 8.0x there are some incompatibilities with the current BES releases from RIM. RIM has indicated they will have full compatibility with Notes 8.0x in the next release of the BES code.

Thank you for the information all. Quick question, when you say the BES can then forward the journal notes to the BB, would I have to make that change on the BES or will it be done automatically? And where on my BB can I find my journal notes?

Thanks again!
