Default Reassign Green Phone button to open Messages possible?

Is it possible to reassign the green Phone button to open Messages?

I have absolutely no use for the phone function on my 9000, and would love to have a shortcut for the messages (left side button is for Memopad and right side button is for the camera).

I miss the 8700c just because there's no convenience key on the front of the BB for this.

As far as I know there is no way to reassign any keys other than the convenience keys. You may have to give up the memopad or camera shortcuts if messages are that important to you.

Yes, you lost the convenience key in the middle on the 8700c, but you gained a trackball. I would say that's a pretty fair trade.

If you disable dial from homescreen, you gain access to all the shorcuts.

Correct if the Bold is like the Curve you should be able to use the "M" key to get to messages.

I'm aware about that - thanks.

The convenience key makes it convenient to simply go straight to messages if I was browsing or playing a game on the BB. I was simply wondering if I could reassign the green key. I guess not.

I'd say replace the Memo key. How many times are you gonna need super quick access to the memo pad? Well maybe you will but you could always just put that on the home screen.
