It might not be exactly what you're looking for, but I use youmail.com. It has a feature called ditchmail which lets you disable the callers ability to leave a voicemail. Check it out, it's cool either way.

Would be cool to set up rules for numbers like you can for email...

With me it's Cablevision - damn they are annoying. They have an auto dialer that just hits you every day until you answer. So I answer and I put the phone on my desk then hang up after a minute. Rude? Yes. Effective? Yes.

Just add the number/name to your address book and set the customer phone to to MUTE.

Default Disappointed in T-Mobile / cell features...

I have contacted T-Mobile about this before. They say it cannot be done.

The other thing I would like is the ability to block SMS messages from particular people (or for everyhting but T-Mobile alerts). T-mobile's option is to have your phone number changed. No thanks.

You can try adding your number to the National Do Not Call Registry.

Search on Handago.com for BerryBlocker. It doesnt really block calls but it mutes them and passes them to your voice mail. You can add by phone number, just area codes, select unknown, etc...

I am using a trial version and its still buggy. There is a 7 day trial on Handago if anyone wants to try it. Also sometimes it blocks ALL calls so make sure to check your logs of voicemail now and then.

Unhappy

I really wish there was a way to block certain calls too.

1. Some genius at my old job years ago had distributed a "contact" sheet with the employees' numbers on it (I didn't consent to my number being given out and had indicated it be kept for HR purposes only and when I complained, all they did was ask people to return the sheets. Unfortunately, the didn't get most of them back.)

2. A job website had incorrectly listed my phone number as the contact number so I am always getting calls from jobseekers.

3. Another job website has a listing for a company with a similar number to mine (one number off) and someone will always misdial and call me instead.

4. Another genius at a company I did business with had listed my cell phone number as another company's contact. And that list was distributed as well.

Needless to say, I still receive numerous calls from unwanted callers and now that I don't have unlimited free incoming calls (Nextel's one and ONLY good feature), it eats up my minutes. And changing my number is not an option.

yeah I don't like the "sometimes it blocks ALL calls" I never really have my phone tone turned on anyways. But I did find something that did help and she stopped calling for about 3 days http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...mail-once.html

I would have thought that in the UK T-Mobile have a legal obligation to block numbers which call your phone.

If you live in the UK check out Home page | Ofcom (not sure of the alternative in the US), anyway find out the info you want and state it to T-Mobile, if they still don't comply then complain to ofcom:
Problems with your mobile phone | Ofcom

Hope that helps.

But a mobile phone blocker app would be great, at least it would be a hell of a lot easier than having to ring us customer service each time you want to block a number.
