I was wondering the same thing.
I didn't even know Radio was a feature on the Pearl, as it doesn't show on my Applications Menu. I accidentally pressed two buttons and it said 'Turning on radio'
Now I can't remember how I even got the radio to play in the first place.

Blackberry is actually recommending using QuickPlayer. I check it briefly. It's mostly talk radio. Check it out from your phone at BlackBerry HELP!

QuickPlayer does not work on the 8100. When you go to download it, it says that the device is not supported.

I take back what I say. I just realized after playing around with it, it's not a free program. You have to pay a monthly fee for it. Not worth it for me. I am already paying a monthly fee for my XM radio in my car.

As for working on the 8100, that's what I thought too. But I decided to give it one more try before giving up downloading it to my phone. I decided to change the options on the Blackberry browser. Instead of having it emulate IE, I change it to Blackberry. After you do that, than you will be able to download the program to your phone.

there is no native radio application on the 8100. turning radio on and off simply turns off data/phone and turns it back on again. Radiobee and quickplayer are the only apps to date that stream radio to blackberrys. I also believe radiobee is the only one that streams real radio that plays music and not talk shows

I've been using RadioBee as well; the only station that works reliably every time for me is Virgin Radio.

This is a list of stations someone else put together:

radiobee.com :: View topic - Working Stations

Also, FYI, I've been able to use the J2MEStreaming application to stream .amr files to my 8100.

I've been able to download Quickplayer to my 8100 no problem. If you're on a BES, try changing your browser from Blackberry Browser to Internet Browser, or maybe try the WAP browser.

I installed QuickPlayer and it works fine on the Pearl.

In fact, the site has the Pearl illustrated on the BB page.

I might try it out for a month. It's only $8 monthly, so will see if I like it.

That's exactly why I am not getting it. $8 per month?!?! I already paying $12.95 per month for my XM radio.

Not worth it.

Yeah, I hear you, all this can add up. I have a Sirius lifetime subscription, Netflix, HBO and HDTV package.

But I like the idea of getting radio feeds on my cell phone. I don't drive in SF and when I am on mass transit, I have about 20 minutes to kill. So live news, well semi live anyway, is worth $8 a month.

But we shall see. If I don't use it then I'll toss it.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8100/4.2.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

I hate the fact that we have to pay for radio? That's wack!
