Hi i have a BB pearl flip 8200 and unlocked it from T-mobile and everytime i put a sim card in it loads the contacts the number and messages but wont let me call or text? would living in Canada affect that because T-mobile is american?

Well you need it to be activated with a cell carrier and according to your profile, you don't have one.

The sim card would have to be activated by the carrier. If the phone is Canadian and the sim card is American they might not be compatible (not sure if this matters). Although it is unlocked, you would also have to have the phone set to the correct settings to have certain features. What carrier was the phone on before it was unlocked?
