I have BB Curve 8320 with OS 4.5.0.81 (Platform 2.7.0.78). I was happy with Ubertwitter, then they came out with Beta 8. Silly me upgraded it and I really loathe the new version.

RIM came out recently with Twitter for Blackberry. So I thought to try it. Urgh! Uninstalled. I'm an Ubertwitter fan, just not the Beta 8 version.

I want to go back to Beta 7, but the only Beta 7 download links I could find are for the OS 4.6. I did try to download it on the BB, but got an error message saying net_rim_bbapi_messagelist is required.

I checked the application settings (right click on an application to pull up Modules) and there's no such net_rim_bbapi_messagelist. So I guess it is only with a higher OS than on my Curve 8320.

Now to the point, is there a way to downgrade Ubertwitter Beta 7 (or the version that was out before the latest version came out) on the OS 4.5.0.81?

Just to make sure, I cannot upgrade the OS from 4.5.0.81 to 4.6 on the Curve 8320, right?

Unless there is a beta lying around, it was my understanding that the 8320 takes up to 4.5. As a consolation, take a look at Seesmic or tweetcaster.

The downloads for the Beta 7 all require that net_rim_bbapi_messagelist which I can't get with this OS and I am not able to upload to OS 4.6.

Another reason I don't like Beta 8 Ubertwitter is it no longer has the option to log-off or exit. There is only a "Close" option and the application is still running even though I removed the options to refresh. The battery on the BB drained half in a short time with UT8. Never had that kind of problem with UT7, so that's why I want to go back to it but I just can't find the download application for an OS less than 4.6.

Seesmic doesn't allow manual retweets where you can edit them. I logged in three times on tweetcaster but nothing happened. The tweet that was supposed to give me free access never showed up. Now I had to change my password because I think it might have been a gype to get passwords.

On my UT beta-8, there's both a close and exit option. It down at the bottom of the menu, but a quicker way to completely close the program (as opposed to leaving it running) would be the keyboard shortcut CAPs+X.

Also under options for UT, there's a section called "move to background." If you uncheck the box, pressing the escape/back key will also close the program completely.

No. That is not correct. Please look at quote option. In fact, Seesmic lets you put mention on the end which I prefer
