How is MDS configured to access the Internet? Ie, is it configured to access direct, or through a proxy? If its a proxy, it may have something to do with how the proxy handles authentication.

Default Secure Sites

Not sure what carrier you are on, but the Nextel Blackberrys are not able to access most secure sites. More than likely this is your problem because PayPal is a secure site that requires a login. While you are able to login to most email accounts (Yahoo, AOL, Hotmail, etc) on the Blacberry, these sites do not require the SSL Connection like sites such as PayPal do.

This is a primary question of mine. Is there a way to access these secure sites on a BB? Is it the BB unable to access them? The BB browser? Or who you have service with? I have searched for more info on this subject but only find small mentions here and there. Can someone direct me to more info?

Default Error 400

Did you ever get an answer to this? I'm having the same problem. We are not using a proxy and not able to access Intranet sites via BB. Keep getting error 400.

Under TLS in the Settings menu, change "Allow HTTPS: Redirections" from No to Yes and that may help. I can now get to my E-trade account, but my bank still glitches, although it's a different error than the one I had before.

Default Error 400: Bad Request

I never had this issue with my 7105t, but now that i have a pearl.. i do.. and there is just one browser icon. I previously had a browser icon and a blackberry browser icon that allowed me to access internal sites for my company.

Is it the case that the 8700 series has only one browser icon (the BB brower) and that this browser does not support SSL very well?

Sorry - in 4.0, check the MDS properties in BB Manager. On the TLS/HTTPS tab - allow outbound connections to untrusted https sites. Also check the proxy tab for the ssl port setting. Make sure the ssl port is not used by another process - use netstat -a to check
