One question, when I delete the CICALs for each email address, will the calendar, tasks, emails, etc be deleted from the device until I re-synch?

I have the same problem as ginger46, with an 8310. I tried the suggested solution of clearing all calendar items and resynching with my Outlook calendar, and all I got was a completely blank calendar on my B'Berry. The synchronization does not recognize the Outlook calendar. All other synchs (notes, addresses and reminders) work fine.

I am using Desktop Manager 5.0 with MSOffice 2007 and I have gone over everything, all the configurations etc, to no avail.

Any suggestions?

I have the 8130 which comes with 4.3 OS and use it on the VZW BIS for personal emails and such. I sync with my laptop for my work calendar and contacts though (Lotus Notes version 7 but calendar app does not matter). After a week of using the BB I added a some calendar entries into Lotus and then sync'ed the BB to get them on there but nothing sync'ed on the calendar. Dismayed I check all my settings and even reset DM sync settings and readded. Nothing worked. I contacted VZW but since the 8130 is so new they don't know much about it so I was transfered to RIM.

After more than an hour of trying different things and never getting the calendar to sync (everything else does fine) we found that with the 4.3 OS it creates a calendar service book for each BIS email address (we know that, it has a multiple calendar thing) but that it does not create a default calendar for DM syncing. Since no default calendar is created there is nothing for the DM to sync with.

The fix was to go into the service books and delete all the CICAL service books for each email address. There is one per address. After doing that we reset and readded the sync configuration in DM. On the next sync it creates the default calendar and it will now sync with DM.

My recommendation is to get rid of the calendar for each email address. Why would I want to have appt's on 4 different calendars? I have enough trouble doing everything in my one calendar!

But anyways, if you have the same issue that is the fix and if you resend the service books to your BB then you must again delete the CICAL service books for each email address so that sync works. RIM is aware of this issue and are tring to find a fix but this was their work around for now.

I don't post much in this forum because I usually just come here looking for help and almost always find it via search. So while I don't have the expertise to offer new information I do feel compelled to offer a ringing endorsement of this tip. I've had some issues with calendar synchronization and was dismayed that I could not figure out how to specify which of the two calendars on my blackberry that my calendar in Outlook should sync with. I suspect it has something to do with the DM4.7 version I am using. Perhaps a more recent version has this capability.

Anyway, I followed the approach documented above and it worked for now. Hopefully it is a permanent fix.

Thx

I have a Curve 8520 which I sync regularly with Microsoft Outlook 2007. Suddenly I cant seem to sync my Calender data. I've tried re-setting the options but no respite. I am using Blackberry Desktop version 5.0.1.

Can anyone please help me?

What did you reset? Did you double check the CICAL setting in default services on the blackberry? Clarify.

You say that sync was working. Are you now getting any kind of error message? Have you viewed the log in DM, and what, if any clues are contained therein? Does everything else sync, except calendar? Does DM just skip calendar?

Have you doublechecked sync settings in DM?
