Default Change Domain Name

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

We have just changed company names and thus our domain name. How can I change the existing users in BES to have our new domain name in their email address field. If I add a new user in it brings in the new email domain name no problem, just want to change the existing ones

Running BES4.0 for Groupwise

thanks
Colin

Have you tried to remove the user and readd it? That is the first thing I would test.

If I do that though I'll then need to reassign each handheld to each user etc, there must be a way to do this without causing me to get each handheld into me to change it over

I can't see any other way of doing this as you can't edit the email address.
You should be able to remove the user without removing the BlackBerry info within that users mailbox, then when you readd the user the PIN should come up automatically. Maybe you could then resend the service books and you should be OK?
THe handheld would still be assigned to the same srp id on the RIM relay.
If that doesn't work, then set an activation password and just go through the enterprise activation. I know that that is what you don't want to have to do but I really can't see any other way for the BES to pick up the new email address.
I would test it out...at least to find out whether this will actually work, and if you don't find any other way, you will know what to do.

As long as the unique identifier of each mailbox is not changed you should be fine. It may take some time before the BlackBerry manager reflects the new address. However, if the identifier of the account changes, there is nothing you can do but remove the old account, add the new account, and reprovision the device.

We have about 15 users but all quite mobile and heavy users.

I'll do one as a test and see if it causes any dramas then go from there

thanks for your help
