Can anyone think of a reason why I wouldn't be getting notifications when I get a Facebook message? I almost never login to Facebook online but when I do I notice that I've gotten messages and yet didn't receive notifications either by email or the Facebook application on my BlackBerry. Anyone else having this problem? The application works fine sending messages, pictures, etc but just won't tell me when I get a message. I see that there is some type of service book entry but only one.

TIA!

As I do not have the app on my BB, is there a viewable New Feed? That's one thing I've noticed that will update every so often.

The Facebook app is really hit and miss when it comes to reliability. I get text message, and email notifications from Facebook almost instantly, but only about one out of every five messages actually comes through on in the app. The fact that you're not getting email notifications makes me suspect that you may have some account setting issues as well.

I do update my alert settings on facebook every so often, and that seems to temporarily resolve the issue but it reverts to hit and miss messages in time. I'm going to try to delete the app and reinstall today, and see how that goes. Thanks.

My notifications stopped for about a period of 2 weeks or so then started working again without any change on my part. I'm guessing it's something on Facebook's end.

I uninstalled/reinstalled the app and all seems right with the world ... for now. I also had the app installed originally before Rogers pushed the service book to the phone. When I uninstalled the app, I deleted the service book too, and it hasn't come back even after a battery pull. Could the service book have been causing a conflict with the app?

Someone mentioned in another thread that in order to get notifications in the Facebook app, you must have your BB email address set as the notification destination. The Facebook app peeks inside your Inbox for Facebook notifications, and pulls them into the app.

I only have text notifications set up on my BB and I've always received some notifications to the app. It's a free service and app, so I can't complain, and since this is the only "problem" I've ever really had with my Curve, I *really* can't complain!
