Awesome! Thanks for the update rivviepop!!!!!

Default Nexthaus syncml w/yahoo

Hopefully I am not posting this in the wrong section.
Has anyone been able to get this to work with yahoo??

I downloaded the SyncJe BlackBerry Client. I am trying to sync it with yahoo to work with my calendar and contacts.

I am wondering if anyone can provide me with all of the setting info aside from my username and password.

According to the yahoo site I need to do the following.

Server Settings

· Go to your SyncML options/settings:

· Point to the following server: sync.next.go.yahoo.com.

· Data type for address book is “contacts”

· Data type for calendar is “calendar”

· You will need to enter your Yahoo! ID and password to sign into Yahoo!

I have tried this and cannot get it to work.

BTW None of the blackberry devices are listed on their compatibility list.

Yahoo! Mobile

Obviously I want to get this set up before I pay for the software.

The latest release of Barry ( SourceForge.net: Barry ) has packages for libopensync so just about to test multisync'ing my bb with a text file to start with. If it works then finally i can keep palm, google and wm devices in sync with bb

EDIT: YEY IT WORKED. Finally theres sync for BB without too much effort or any recompilation. So far its only contacts and calendar support but still its better than nothing.

exact ETA as of yet when this client will be released, however it will be
available on the website for download soon ."

PSA: it appears SyncBerry has fallen off the planet; the website is bunk and Handango has removed many links to buying the software (good thing I backed up the installer files I paid for!). I went looking for a newer version when I discovered this (they sent me a beta of an upcoming 4.2.0.0 release but I never heard from them again after that - that was 10 months ago).

It appears the only two players left are Nexthaus SyncJe and the Funambol client plugin (which hasn't been updated in a year and a half). Which really means the only player left in the game is Nexthaus SyncJe.

Hey LunkHead -- it appears that Mobile Creek software and SyncBerry have joined the deadpool, their website has been nonop for quite some time now and I get no emails back from them (I purchased it as well).

When you have a sec, could you edit the first post slightly to remove the SyncBerry / Mobile Creek references? It's a dead end now for anyone, bad information. :(

I am not sure if yahoo supports syncml. The information above does not work for me either. I have contacted their support to see if they can help. They may not be running a syncml server, but have it closed to only their clients.

I will respond here if I find any useful information.

As for Notes on the BB, still no real update for you guys, although we are now on version 2.37, which you can get here: Nexthaus > Synchronization Products > SyncJe for BlackBerry

We have been busy getting the Palm and iPhone versions of SyncJe released, so some other features have been delayed.

Hi Lou, thanks for taking the time and joining the forum/following up.

I'm not sure if you and I have spoken in email, but I'm one of the people who's been emailing for a year to get notes support added to the client. Everything else has been working great and the software is top-notch, I just really, really need this feature added to round out my complete device sync. Anything I can do to help y'all out in this regards please just say the word; we're here to help y'all out.

I will keep you updated on any news or progress... thanks for being patient.

Is it just me or is this forum very slow? Any way for me to speed it up? Like using a "lite" option or something?

The forum is being slow - there's a sticky here from Guess (Tom, site owner), the site is being crushed under the load of new users from the holidays, and the hardware is old and incapable. They have new hardware and are working on getting things fixed, moved, etc. - this happened last year but it wasn't this bad. The BB devices are getting more popular.

Has anyone else tried Google Synx with their blackberry? I tried it this weekend to sync my calendar and it removed all my events on my blackberry! Though they did make it to the google calendar, I find it quite odd that they disappeared from my phone. I thought the whole idea of syncing was to keep both devices up to date, which would mean leaving the events on my phone and adding them to my google calendar.

Has anyone else had this experience?

Actually, a number of folks have (myself included) and ran into similar problems. There's a thread in the AfterMarket subforum for the GoogleSync tool and everyone's reports, you might want to dig for it and read what other people have found out as well. (afraid I haven't seen it in awhile, so might have to dig back a month)

I'm not as important as you guys yet, so I have nothing in the calendar to manage. How about if I install this and pretend to be important and create all sorts of unmeaningful stuff?

Default can't sync with mobical

I set this up on my curve and setup the account, but when select "start sync" I see in the log

Changes Client->Server
(none were sync, it says 0,0,0)

Changes Server -> Client
(none where synced, it says 0,0,0)

change client - > server
(none where synced, it says 0,0,0)

don't get any errors though.

Did you try turning on Debug mode, then using the 'Force Slow Sync' option?

Cool

Mandriva boasts improvements in synchronization with WM5 and WM6 devices. Blackberry allegedly tested as well:

OSNews.com

I'll believe it when I see it.
