Default FINALLY ! 7100i Plastic Holster from Sprint/Nextel **pics**

Please Login to Remove!

Hey Everybody,

If this has been posted already please disregard. I went to my local Sprint/Nextel Retail Store tonight to buy my first Bluetooth Headset and happened to ask the Sales Rep if they have made any cases/holsters for the 7100i yet besides the one that comes with the phone and the available leather one with no swivel. I haven't used any type of case/holster since the day the 7100i was released, I've just put it in my pocket. I hate cases/holsters that don't have a swivel. Anyways, the guy said yes, we have a new holster that we got in today, we haven't even put it on the shelf yet. He comes out with one in a clamshell pack and I couldn't believe what I saw, a plastic snap in black swivel holster. I didn't even look to see if it had the sleeper function or anything. I grabbed it along with my Bluetooth Headset and left. When I got home I took it out and dropped my phone in to it, snaps in securely and works great. The packaging says nothing about the sleep mode so I snapped it in and took it back out and IT WORKED ! Has all of the features a lot of us have been wanting for quite some time. The best part of it was that it was a great price, the retail on it was $19.99 but since I bought 2 other items it was only $13.99. They are having a sale right now, buy 2 accessories get 20% off or buy 3 accessories and get 30% off, not bad huh ? So, If you have been looking for something like this, contact your Sprint/Nextel Retail store near you ! GOOD LUCK !

Here is what the Sprint clamshell package says on it:

Holster for use with Blackberry 7100i, accommodates a standard or extended battery, swivel adjustment lets you position the phone eight different ways, over 360-degree range

Model# CHR7110R

Here are some pics:

Shundy

I'm assuming its a face-in design?

I looked and did not see this on the Nextel website.

I was wondering does this support the sleeper function like most of the leather cases do?

Would this work with the 7130e too?

I just tried this holster in the store with my 7130e and the sleep function did not work at all. It's a purely plastic holster and it doesn't appear to have any magnets in it at all. I'm not a genius but doesn't the sleep function require the holster to have some form of magnetism in it?

Maybe I'm looking at the wrong plastic holster but its the one sold in the verzion store directly beneath the 7130e.

Well I went to the Nextel store today and bought the holster. And yes the sleeper function does work. There is a magnet in there, I checked with a small pocket screw.

If you were at Verizon you were in the wrong store.

Take a look at my 2nd picture from the top, you can see the magnet right below the clip, it's round and has a plastic adhesive cover over it !

Thanks,
Shundy

Can you take a picture of the back side of the belt clip? The part that comes into contact with the belt.
