hello,
i took my blackberry to a phone shop to install the os on it, but after turning it on he set arabic as a default keybord language, i have changed it using alt+enter to english but everytime i send a sms i can only send 70 characters per sms, which is the limit of an arabic language sms not an english language sms that has 160 characters per sms. so i dont know what to other then formatting it to set it from the beginning. so how should i do it? i once read that i can do it from option, security options, general settings, .... but then what ??? i can t find the link again.
if anyone can help i ll be more than thankful

Generally the SMS length is set by the carrier.

Wipe the device with Jl_cmdr (see the FAQ for more info) and then reload the OS (see the yellow sticky for the latest version for your specific device and the instructions).

Make sure that you follow the instructions exactly and be patient. It can take an hour or longer.

Deletes all user data and optionally user installed programs. To completely wipe out the device and reload the OS, follow Dubdub's suggestions (post #2).

Use either one and do a "wipe".
