I know many Members don't go anywhere except the 8100 section, so....

I have about 100 ringtones [mp3 and wav]. Many are e-mail sounds, police chatter/sirens, movie sounds, that yahoo guy, the AOL guy, classic or antique clocks, animals, old style phone rings, etc.

A few members have asked for some of my ringtones. I said I would repost them in a thread.

But I won't bother if there is no demand for them [it takes about 3 hours at least to check them all, rename the files, upload to my server, and make the list for posting in here].

So if there is interest, please say so in here and I will get the stuff posted today or over the weekend [I will fit it in between a massive project that has to be filed by next Friday, so no guarantees on when it will be posted].

You can click to preview, then if you like the tone, download it. Or you can highlight the link, "save target as" and download without previewing.

Once downloaded on to your computer, open up Desktop Manager or your MicroSD chip through WinXP Explorer.

If on DeskTop Manager, select <media manager> and transfer the tones from your PC on to the 8100 <ringtone> folder.

If on the MicroSD chip through WinXP, simply transfer or copy them to your chip's Ringtone folder.

Then go into your sound profile, click <advance> and change the tones for the phone and message notifiers to whatever thrills you. Make sure to access the MicroSD chip if that is where you saved the tones.

Bonus Tip: I use the Yahoo tone to notify me of mail that comes in from my Yahoo account.

If you have an AOL account, use the AOL "you've got mail" notifier for mail that comes in from your AOL account.

Bonus Tip - Some of the tones make pleasant wake up alarms [Big Ben, Clock Chimes]

Bonus Tip: I named the tones according to what they sound like to me.

Bonus Tip: You can put the cursor over each link and look at the bottom left of your screen to see the full file name.

May be a stupid question...but will ask anyway....what is the best way to download a ringtone from SanFranciso's collection if I us a Mac and PocketMac rather than the Desktop manager?

Sorry, all I know about MAC is that I bought an Apple notebook compouter on eBay for $25, as a vintage collectible. And also when I got my girlfriend to switch from MAC to PC, working on her MAC to help transfer files was made difficult because it was like trying to find out where the "power on" switch was located. It was a frustrating experience.

Do you have a MicroSD chip?

If so, is there a way to access it through your MAC?

If so, are the default folders on the chip [ringtones, videos, music, pictures]? [the Pearl creates them by default when one turns on mass storage mode, etc.]

If so, can you transfer the ringtones to the folder on the chip.

Once transferred you simply hit "browse" when setting up the tones and notifiers and it will ask if you want to access the media card [chip].
