I have an Application "xyz" running on a blackberry handheld (7750). This application starts as a background thread when the handheld is booted. The application was running fine until I added an alternate entry point to it. The alternate entry point allows the user to attach a GUI with this application (running as a backgound thread) and detach it without affecting the current state of the application.

The problem is that this application with an alternate entry point works fine on the 7750 simulator using both JDE3.6 and JDE4.0 but when I try loading it on an actual handheld, it makes the handheld hang.

What could be the problem ? I get this System generated message on both the simulator and the actual handheld:
"Process xyz" queue overflow; oldest event dropped.

I have the same problem, in the same context. I have an application with an alternate entry point. The background thread listens for push messages sent by a push server, after a few messages received the thread stops and the next message is placed in the log of the simulator:
"Process <Application name> queue overflow; oldest event dropped"
when I disable the blackground thread it works fine.
I have tried it only on the simulator
