Default BB Curve 8320 Hard Reset During Call; 4.5 os

Please Login to Remove!

Has this issue been well documented already? What is the solution?

When 4.5 beta came out I used it and started noticing this problem and figured it would be solved in the official release, so I downgraded until then.

I have a T-mobile on 4.5.0.81, the official T-mob BB OS release.

Every single time I have a call on the phone longer than 10 minutes, the phone hard resets, then takes the usual way too long to restart back up. (although randomly, but guaranteed to happen if the conversation is longer than 10 minutes), and the record of the phone call disappears from the call log.

I've had T-Mobile send me a new battery already, but this hasn't helped. Any ideas?

I have this issue too, but I'm running 4.2 OS. Google "curve 8320 restarts on calls" and see forum after forum of this issue. The only thing people have done in the past is got new curves until the problem stopped. It seems to me that even with the upgrade to new 4.5 its an issue, maybe a complete defect in the 8320??

I've the 4.5.0.110 in the 8310, and I don't have this issue.

The OP said he already upgraded and the issue isn't resolved, and it seems to be an issue with the 8320 not 8310, and also with TMo as well.

Try downloading the OS file all over again and reinstalling it. Also if this is on UMA, it could be a problem with the router. One other possibility is the SD card. When goiing from 4.2 to 4.5, sometimes one of the files on there is corrupted so the card has to be reformatted and the files added back one by one.

UMA was never a problem. I did use it for awhile back but I've since stopped. After posting yesterday with no apparent solution I just called up T-Mobile and asked for a replacement phone, so I'll have to go this route. The Tech didn't seem to understand how widespread this is though.

I don't know about widespread. It was a big problem when the 4.2 OS was the only OS out. After about 4.5.0.68 or maybe a little earlier, there hasn't been nearly the same level related to phone calls. There have been a lot of resets due to problems with pictures or videos already on the sd card though.
