Default Index of pictures is reset after firmware update

Please Login to Remove!

Hello,

i updated my BlackBerry Curve 8900 with the OS 5.0.0.822 (from .681) and after this, without doing a "wipe", the index (part of the automatic generated name of new pictures) of my photos restarts with IMG00001..jpg, instead of something with IMG00488...jpg.

Is there a way to set this index of my camera back to the old index, or at least to keep it, with the next firmware update?

The index is a nice thing, if i search for a foto and i know his index, there would be only one with it. But now i have more than one.

Thank you,

Regards, franc

Not that i know of.

I guess you could just import all your photos and process them on your computer and then delete them off the mem card so things are back to 001.

No, the index has nothing to do if there are still pictures on the phone (mem card), it is incrementing with each photo done.
To set things back to 00001 i need to update firmware or wipe and install firmware.
But i want to keep the index, i dont want to set it back to 00001!

if you want to keep the index, dont wipe.

if you already wiped, welcome to the beginning.

there is no setting that i know of that will allow you to manually adjust the file name hte camera app starts counting up from.

might be possible with a lot of hacking, though.

"with a lot of hacking" - unfortunately i am not this skilled in that.

The index is reset without wiping, just by updating the firmware with the RIM-Update.
So this is a bug by RIM, should be fixed one day i hope.
