Default Nextel 7520 Noise Issue

Please Login to Remove!

Hello there,

I have had a 7520 for about four weeks, and love it..no problems, email, Bluetooth, speakphone is great.

However, with the Nextel Direct connect, it seems when I have the phone on (always during the day), it makes my computers speakers, car radio, and other devices crackle and sound like static. When I change position or move the phone away, it stops.

Not a big deal, but I don't use the direct connect a lot, any solutions out there?

This is a minor issue, this is a GREAT phone!

Stay away from speakers lol. Seriously, that's about the only way to avoid it. Most phones and speakers out aren't shielded like they used to be, so the speakers pick up the RF interference that is caused.

My 7280 does it, my I730 does it, and my V3 Razr does it. Unfortunatly it's the nature of the beast.

Another thing to try out is to find better shielded speakers, and/or speaker wires. There's really not a whole lot that can be done in my experiences unfortunatly :(

Thanks for the response, I figured this was about the only option.

Hasn't every cellphone in the history of mankind done this?

I had a 7 year old Ericsson that did it, a Motorola, my 7520.

The Tmobile GSM 7230's go "hmm bzzz buh buh"
With the nextel's it goes "pffft pffft" and when it rings it goes "tick tick tick tick tick" and sounds like a rattlesnake when on a call.

It is almost like a feature because I know the phone is going to ring about 5-10 seconds before it does.

I had an Audiovox, LG, and Blackberry 7100T and none of them did it or are doing it, I only have it with the Nextel one, but I do love it, so like an errant child, you ignore the noise ! :D

All Nextel's have that noise issue. It happens whenever you're within a few feet of a speaker and the phone is transmitting.

I just got a 7290 at work and I am having the same problem. It messes with my computer speakers and my landline phone when transmitting. I guess I will just try to move my BB away from them and deal with it.
