Arrow App: BB_Manager (BB <=> PC)

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

I created a small application to automate some operations with BB:

- load .cod file
- convertion & load .jar files (jad file created by application if it's not found)
- delete files from BB
- copy files from BB to PC (.jar files)
- use BB password to connect to device
- support USB/COM connected devices

Thank Mark Rejhon for his "HOWTO: Manually convert .jad/.jar to .cod if you cant do OTA" guide. The application is not a perfect but keep me a lot of time. It's just GUI for JavaLoader/RAPC BB utilities. I've tested it on my BB7290 (USB) and my friend tested it with some old COM-port connected BB.

There is a link : BB_Manager (ZIP 6Mb)

The application is written in VB.NET so it requires Framework 2.0 to work.

HOWTO "install":

- unzip files to any folder
- link you BB
- run BB_Manager.exe (at first run you will receive message regarding registry key just ignore it, if application is closed after that - rerun it)

Click on right mouse button will rise a menu for Copy/Delete/etc. operations.

Application creates keys in registry : HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\BB_Manager

Any comments are welcome

This link leads to a site displayed in what appears to be Russian, with no mentionn of BB Manager, I'd be a little worried. about this unless it is rectified.

The link is fixed. It's pointed to Russian file share server. You will see "BB_Manager.zip" line and under it something like ">>> óËÁÞÁÔØ / Download <<<" - it's a link .

Downloaded it and tested it, on a 7250 and it worked flawlessly. You do need to come up with a help file. I tested an instalation that I did not want to keep and when it was installed and i tested to see it worked and i was satisfied, I went to delete it and I could not delete it via the Handheld. However upon a little more playing with the application I went to the left side where it lists the handheld applications, selected the application I did not want and right mouse clicked and chose delete and it removed it with ease, I think it will also remove other listed applications though I chose not to try (I am happy with what I have), but it certainly makes an ardous process a snap. Good job man I wish I had had this 6 months ago.

I make small additions to BB_Manager:

- it can use password to connect to BB
- it generates JAD file for JAR if JAD file is not found
- more correct work with big files

The link to new BB_Manager is located in initial message.

I downloaded and installed your new version and when I try to run it I get an Uncaught exception error. Any ideas?

Great software! One question though. When you load a JAR file does it automatically get converted to a COD file?

2 discordia: Yes, it does. As well as creates JAD file before if it wasn't found...
