Why does my email appear in my message folder with text messages and not in my email folder?

Depending on you email system, Message folder will have emails. I have two folders. Message for all BES email and another folder for Yahoo etc. You did not say what type of system your on, BES or BIS but either way I doubt anything is wrong.

The main message list is a catch all for all items. You should also have a message list just for BIS and BES (if you are running 4.1.6 BES)

How does one go about creating another folder for BIS? Mine all dump into the main folder.

OK, got that figured out. Is there any way to stop them from going into the main folder?

All mail and SMS go into the Messages folder and to a folder for each email account that you have. Delete from one place and it is gone from all. This how the BB works.

There is way to separate out SMS under options. But I don't think you can separate email, unless Empower will do that. I suggest you search on Separating Messages or some similar topic and see what you find.

Are you using the today theme or something? The factory blackberry today theme only sticks new items on the homescreen that's in the message folder. If you're like me and separate the sms and email folders, then you need to find and download a different today theme that will show both folders.

When you setup email on bis it will setup a folder for each email address. Email will show up in the consolidated message folder and in the respective email account folder. If you want to keep them separated, you can simply hide the message folder.

The messages are only downloaded once and are simply linked to the folders. I won't do any harm to hide the messages folder.

Well, I had been facing the same problem as I changed my BB handset, iam on BIS and have 2 accounts .. one gmail and one for work. Initially tried everything but all emails went to the messages folder and not the designated folders, it turns out that from your BB browser i hadnt validated my BIS account. After validating your BIS account on your BB device .. things should come back to normal.

Try:

- Battery pull
- Resending service books
- Deleting the account from BIS and adding it back

...in that order (if one doesn't work, move on to the next).

My situation is slightly different. I am receiving emails from both bes and bis. The email from the bes does not have its own folder. It only goes to the messages folder and is mixed with the bis messages. If I cannot stop the bis messages from going into the messages folder, can i create a separate folder for the bes emails?

Thanks
