MSDE Password Change

I've been thrown into managing our BES server and have run into my first issue already. We're running 4.1.6 (Bundle 30) I've been asked to changed the password for the database. Looking at the Blackberry it shows that we're using Windows Authentication as the BesAdmin account runs as a service. So I didn't think changing the password would affect anything. Well, I logged on to another server with sql enterprise manager, changed the BES sa password, rebooted the BES, and presto, it's broke. No messages coming in or out. By looking at the box, I couldn't tell anything was wrong. The password change worked, as I tested the new password in the authentication area of BES manager. I'm guessing I'm missing something here. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
