Please Login to Remove!

Well I was following on how to do it through the other thread and it says to download the 4.1.0.280 or 4.1.0.284. Do I download the desktop software/palm software/ or the server stuff. Sorry I'm all new to this and those are the three sections and I dont know what to do. If anyone could help out or just give me the link directly i would appreciate it!!

You have to download handheld software. Link's to carrier download pages are here: BlackBerry Operating System Downloads - BlackBerryFAQ
The list of most current handheld software available is: http://www.blackberryforums.com/rim-...ry-device.html

Storm I'm using Seatles18's thread
http://www.blackberryforums.com/medi...8700-only.html

I'm trying to do the t-mo/zen upgrade on a verizon 8703e phone. The seattle gives for the zen upgrade is:
https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...B999EC0D90D1FB

What I'm asking is which one of all of those I download? I've looked at all of them and can't find the 4.1.0.280 or 4.1.0.284. PLEASE help! I know its probably something something really stupid and easy, so thanks again for all the help for a newbie!

EDIT:So do I just download the 4.1 desktop software or OR the 8700g(TM) software? thanks!

You'll need both. DM to load, and the haldheld software to be loaded.
There are far more up to date versions of software though. Those ones (especially with zen) had many issues

284 with Zen didn't have the issues later TMO versions had with Zen. (At least not for me.)

OK Ive installed the 284 and deleted the vendor. Then moved the rar file in seattles thread to the specified folder that he said to. It says that once that is done open the desktop manager and it should update and take 20-30 minutes. I've plugged in my bb and then opened up desktop manager and I get nothing. I've been reading some threads but nothing seems to solve it. I read Seattles steps word for word and it doesnt want to update...PLEASE help I want Zin SOOOOOO bad! Thanks for the help you all.

I think the problem is the .rar file. IIRC, it's an .,alx file you want.

Well I extracted the rar file and it is alx. Any other suggestions? I mean I've done everything he said. its just that desktop manager will not recognize anything even when I go to application loader... Can I try to load it manually? I've also tried going into the original blackberry alx document and taken out the vendor number as pointed out in another thread. I still get the same problem with desktop manager not recognizing anything even with application loader. I'm using the desktop manager that came with my blackberry. Could it be that, I mean do I have to have a certain desktop manager to load the bharti software bc I didnt think so. haha it just seems like I'm running out of things to try, but any suggestions would be great. thanks again!!

Uninstall everything. Start from scratch following this guide: How to Add Vendor Locked Themes - BlackBerryFAQ

EDIT: you DID remove vendor.xml right?

EDIT: I deleted all of the vendor codes and got bell, cingular,o2-icon, o2-list, orange and sprint. haha where is zin? Or is one of those zin? I thought zin was only 4 or 5 apps on the main screen. What do I do now?

Wow, can't believe I forgot this when I made the wiki article. It's been too long since 4.1.0

You have to also remove all instances of the ThemeSupport="Enhanced" attribute as well as the _vendorID="xxx" ones. This should give you zen and today varieties

Sorry, this was my bad!

hey storm-

EDIT: I deleted just the "theme support=enhanced" parts in the alx file. saved the file then used desktop manager to load it. I looked in themes and zen still isnt there :( Did I have to remove the entire line that the "theme support=enhanced" was on? I didnt know since it wasnt working. Like I said I've got most themes but zen and today is not showing up. Any reason why it shouldnt be working. Any advice would be great. thanks again

Only remove the attribute, not the line. Are you sure you got all instances of it? There are several.
Have you tired going through the application loader to force the load?
