Angry Sprint Blackberry 7750 problems

Please Login to Remove!

Hi, I just recently got a Sprint blackberry 7750 that was given to me for free from a family member. The blackberry did not come with the internet browser icon on it, so im trying to get it back on so I can access the internet, I am not interested in BES 4.0 or to be on a so called corporate server.

I first downloaded the Blackberry desktop manager 4.0 and installed it on my pc, then I bought a usb/charger sync cable.

The problem that im having is when I connect the blackberry to the PC with the usb cable, its saying that its not recognized and it has a malfunction!
I tried searching for the appropriate driver but the PC will not find it. To what I was told is that the Blackberry desktop software includes the usb driver at install?

Anyone have any suggestions or help on this, I would appreciate it!

Thanks.

I'm not real familiar with the 7750. In order to have a browser on most BB's you need a Blackberry Data Plan from your carrier. Are you signed up for the BB data plan? If not, you'll never get a browser.

Unhappy Sprint Blackberry 7750 problems

Hi John,

I actually did have the BB data plan from sprint on my phone, but Sprint was telling me that I Needed to be on a Blackberry Enterprise Server (BES) to get web and data access, so I took it off my plan. Im am only wanting internet access not email or data.

Thanks for your help and reply!

Without a Blackberry Data Plan you can't get anything. You don't need to be on a BES for web and data access but you DO need a BB data plan. You may be able to get web access with Opera Mini (3rd party app) but results vary on that one.

You still need a BB plan to have Internet access on the older models, as far as I know... I could be wrong.

FWIW, the model 7750 is the slowest BlackBerry ever released. Its slow performance is quite painful for many people now. While it serves as a reasonably good PDA, I would not recommend web surfing on it. You can get a Sprint 7250 BlackBerry for really cheap nowadays, buying it used (legally) or on a promotion. While still older models, those are much faster BlackBerry models.

The 7250 continues to stand out (in my mind) as one of the best devices made. I harbor the same feelings for the Motorola StarTac. Good, solid products which do what they are supposed to do very well and quality construction that stands up to the test of time.

Unhappy

Thanks everyone for your replies!

Here is the latest, I called sprint tech support to add the BB Data plan back on my bb. The Tech person said that there was a problem with adding the plan to my account, they were troubleshooting this for about 45 minutes till finally he says that he will have to troubleshoot so more and call me back. he advised that it will take about another 30 minutes, then he'll call me back when its fixed. I have not heard from them yet! I went online and looked at my sprint account and it says that the plan has been added but still no web browser on my BB, Im wondering if there is something I can do on my end to get it to work?

Any ideas?

If all fails, I will definitly look into a BB 7250 or newer model!!!

Thanks
