Default Problems retrieving email

Please Login to Remove!

I'm having a problem that seems to be with different models of blackberry. There's probably an easy solution but I can't seem to find it.

Our blackberry's for some reason seem to stop retreiving e-mail. Everything else works, just not e-mail. Anyways, most people don't notice it until a day later. So, I take the battery out with it on and reboot the device. When it starts back up, it's retrieving e-mails for the current day and operating like it should. The problem is that the previous day is still missing.

How do I tell the blackberry to re-download all the e-mail so I can get back that previous day?

Need more information:
- on BES, BIS, Redirector
- wireless carrier

Using BES, and wireless carrier is decided by the person who chooses to have a blackberry at our offices.

So it's usually Cingular or Sprint.

Drilus - please remember that when the device resumes receiving the queued emails (after the soft reset) that all received items will reflect the current date and time! If you open one of them, you can see in the message header that is was originally sent at a previous time/date.

So, the device actually has received all missing messages...

hrm, you are correct. It has received the messages. That's definitely good to know. Is it possible to have the blackberry re-retrieve all messages (like enterprise activation) so the dates are sorted correctly?

Thanks though. This definitely helps me.

Edit: By "dates" I'm referring to the blackberry timestamp.

so there isn't a trick to pull all the outlook messages at once like in Enterprise Activation?

Would it be possible to delete all the mail messages stored on the Blackberry (without deleting the e-mail on the exchange account), then doing a softboot to have it pull the messages again?

IIRC, Enterprise activation doesn't "pull" old messages onto the handheld. If it does, maybe I'm doing something wrong, because that would be great!

A BlackBerry never "pulls" messages. BES forwards messages as they arrive - there is no way that I know of to populate (or "sync") the BlackBerry messages with what is on already on your e-mail server.
