"According to Merrill Lynch, the BlackBerry 8300 is heading to T-Mobile in May & the BlackBerry Pearl for Verizon/Sprint will launch also launch May 7th. Supposedly. The "firm looks for two positive catalysts near term: 1) RIM's FQ earnings call on 11-April; and 2) Potential launch of Verizon/Sprint Pearl and T-Mobile 83xx WiFi Blackberry on 7-May, coinciding with RIM's Capital Markets Day. MLCO recommends buying May US$140.00 call options ahead of the upcoming catalysts". Sure this is only speculation, but never ever dismiss good ol' Merrill. It does coincide with the approximate rumored launch timeframe for the BlackBerry 8300, but T-Mobile? I guess Pink is hotter than Blue nowadays."
Now it's just a matter of which 8300 model T-Mobile will get....
I hope T-Mobile releases the Papa Bear or all models at once. It will really piss me off if they do this one model in May, another in June, another in July....
8300 for Cingular, they don't support wi-fi
8320 for Tmobile, they want more hotspot subscribers
83XX for ? (Maybe Cingular as well for Telenav?)
I could see Tmobile offering both Mama and Papa but probably not Baby. I don't think each carrier is going to be offering all three. I just think it would be too confusing. I hope I am wrong.
If I had to pick one feature to can it would be WiFi, keeping the camera and the GPS. But I would ideally like T-Mobile to get the Papa and call it a day.
I believe that 8300 will go to Cingular and the 8320 to TMO. The article states that TMO will get the 83XX with WIFI. We know from BG that the 8300 will not have WIFI and the 8320 will. I also think that 83XX Papa Bear will goto a CDMA carrier because CDMA requires GPS.
so if TMobile gets 8300, is that mean Cingular/AT&T would get 8320 ? or even 83xx ?
BGR states that 8300 goes to T Mobile and not 8320... I am willing to give up 8300 to T Mobile if I can get 8320 or Papa bear on Cing.
I think BGR made an error in the headline. The body of the article states that T-Mobile will be getting the wi-fi version which would be the 8320 or Papa bear.

Looks like us T-Mobilers are getting the wi-fi according to the article, which is great news.
Now as for the May 7th date - I only hope that is accurate.
