Default 8 years of calendar data has ground my Z10 to a halt... :-((

Please Login to Remove!

Hey everyone!

I have been a BlackBerry user for a lonnnng time now, and have never had any problems. However... since I upgraded to the Z10, my calendar takes literally 5 minutes to open.

I'm guessing this is because I have always imported everything each time I've upgraded, so now the calendar is so ridiculously full of old data.

Does anyone know if it's possible to purge all of this old data? I don't want to erase the whole thing, as I have a lot of future appts that I don't want to lose.

Any ideas? I tried backing it up using PIM Backup, but it took over 48 hours and then failed (the backup stops when the screen display blacks out, so I had to constantly refresh the screen!)

If anyone can give me some advice, I'd really appreciate it.

Many thanks!

Melissa

I used this but i did not need to reload via backup or get new data.

On the BlackBerry smartphone, complete the following steps:

On the menu in the Calendar application, click Options.
In the Options screen, type RSET.

Not sure this option is OS level dependent.
