I have an 8100 from alltel and it will not give me the option to send mms messages, I go to the messages icon, click on it go into the messages menu and push the BB button and the only options it gives me for sending messages is email and SMS? Does anyone know why this is the case?

If you do a little searching, you would find that Alltel doesn't support MMS on blackberries.

I was told by Alltel that all the 8130 models could not MMS. Is this true? I'm really not happy with this at all!!

No 8130's have the ability to MMS however it is carrier specific. Therefore if you don't see the option to send MMS it is Alltel

I dont understand why RIM and Alltel have not fixed this issuee with the 8130? I understand the curve can MMS on Altell.

It's not a RIM issue.... carriers implement whatever limitations they want... for example the number of characters in a text message is carrier determined... it has nothing to do with the phone..

I can't comment on if a curve can send/receive MMS on Alltel.. I know for example that the carrier that I was initially using did not allow MMS for BB's and the option was not even in the menu... then Bell Canada took over and the next day the ability to send MMS was in my options..

I really believe that your issue is with Alltel

Alltel uses a MMS system that is incompatible with RIM phones. They have tried several new software options from RIM, but so far none have worked. I understand there is another test going on with some new software, but no word on it yet.

Search the forum on MMS + Alltel and you will find quite a few threads.

I told Alltel today that my guess would be they will never have an update on software. I emailed them today and was on the phone with them 4 times today. I have been jerk around on this since I moved to Alltel back in may.
My guess would be they are going to wait unitl they become verizon.
