after downloading and installing the new tmo 4.5 os, i get this error at the very end of installing on my desktop. and it aborts when i click ok. what does it mean?

Are you on XP or Vista. What this usually means in XP is that there are no permissions that are allowing you to write to this area of the registry. You can go to the specific place in the registry, right click on it's folder and change the rights and permissions to see if this can be resolved on another install attempt...

If your trying to run the install with media manager, try the install without it or vice-versa. This issue was also not answered on the BB forum either. I googled this error and the first hit was a thread on BB forums. So far, no answer but I would see if the value is in the registry and adjust the folder permissions to see if the install can complete.

Assumption: Your a local admin.
(try doing the install as your actual admin on the pc/laptop)

EDIT: Set the permission for the Everyone group of the registry subkeys that are listed in the error message to Full Control

Definetly a registry error...the registry contains all of your user configurations and general system settings aquired over the life of your partition...

Basically what this means is that the key, or "directory" you're trying to create on this particular profile is corrupt...it can't give you permission to write the files because it's confused...the string of numbers indicates which sub-key your problem is located under...I would explain furthur, but it is way too complicated...try installing the software on a different USER, or in a different directory...this MIGHT help, not much, but I'm not too fond of digging thru HKEY_USERS lol...
