Default blackberry Most memory

Please Login to Remove!

I need to be able to save 10000's of contacts to the blackberry and also have full functionality of calendar going back 12 months and mail going back as long as possible.

Which blackberry on the market currently has the most memory available.

I apologize if in the wrong section but I could see where else to ask

Ta

Matt, basically any of the newer BBs (83xx, 88xx or 81xx) all have the same memory available (64mb) in the device memory.

It sounds like to me, however, you will want a BES setup, in order to have what you need, with the old mail and calendar items.

Erm.... It depends where you are and what network you are on, as to which devices are available.

This might be a good starting place BlackBerry - BlackBerry Devices | 8700, 7700, 7520, 7200, 7130, 7100 & Pearl Series Handhelds & Accessories

However, still not sure whether you can achieve a year's worth of calendar history even with lots of memory.

Small point, but I bought a brand new UK 8310 from t-mobile, and it only has 56MB memory. Less than the 8800, with 64. Maybe that is why it is cheaper? Also, the "older" 8700 devices had 72MB. Not really sire why they vary so much...

yes the 8700's have the most ta I looked on the "Blackberry handheld Configuration tool" and sorted by model.

Strange how the newer devices have less memory. Noit much point having a memory card if no outlook data can be saved to it though.

think I will advise my user to have XDA as well as blackberry and keep contacts separate.

Jadey, from the link you posted:

For the Curve (8310) Memory, * 64 MB (Flash memory)
For the 8700, 64 MB (Flash memory)
For the 8800, 64 MB (Flash memory)

They are all the same... I thought they were.

Maybe UK devices are different (as Kul and Matt are on o2, assume UK users) or maybe BES misreports, but my 8310s show 56MB... ?!

The three 8700g we have on test from O2 are all 72Mb, least thats what the BES manager reports back to me.

Honestly, I know my 8310 shows File Total = 54.9.

I was actually curious what other showed, and now we know what the BB site says.

File total = total memory minus the OS (Typically takes up 10mb)

The newer OS 4.2 is roughly double in size to support the camera etc.. Even though the newer devices have 64mb of memory, ATT devices have roughly 10mb available right out of the box.
