Default GPS Spotty at best in 8830

Half the time it works perfectly. The other half it won't find my location. Carrier is Sprint. I'm in the same locations when it works or fails. Is this normal?

No, that is not normal. Sprint should give better service.

I guess I'll be calling Sprint then. I'm not fond of Sprint but they are the lesser of the evils.

Default Working great here

I've not had any issues using the GPS in the Sprint 8830.

I do know someone who has a GM vehicle which has some coating on the windshield which prevents GPS devices from working.

When it doesn't work for you, where are toy trying to use it?

I've tried in my house, in a vehicle, on the street outside my house and other places outside.

I have the same issues with my 8830 from Bell in Canada. I just drove down from Calgary, Albert to Salt Lake City, Utah and it only worked for about 2 of the 15 hours we drove.

It seems to start working, get the location, and then gets stuck in "Searching for satellites..." forever.

When it works it's great - but I just can get it to work properly enough of the time.

Angry Does NOT Work for Me Most of the Time

Hello all. I am really frustrated with this darn device. I too have been experiencing the same problem. The only way to resolve it is to pull the battery out and reinsert it. That's a lousy thing to have to do frequently, or at all for that matter. There are enough people complaining about it, you'd thing that either Sprint or Blackberry would at least acknowledge the problem and they, rightfully, correct it!
