Like I said in my post, I wasn't attacking the lady, just giving an opinion. Isn't that what this forum is all about? It doesn't work for me, and I'll just move on.....

It is a free theme. She most likely spent hours of work on something that she is giving to the community for free. If you don't want it, don't download it. Nuff said.

You missed an important part of it though. Watch and learn:

Dawg you're an idiot. I'm not attacking you, that's just my opinion.

See what I did there?

PS Dawg is not an idiot

It's functionality with mini opera deems it unuseable for me as well. The visual appearance of a theme is open for interpretation, but functionality isn't...time to uninstall.

Now that was funny. Happens all the time on here. Some have little to no tact. Sometimes (most times), it's about how you say it. Bettedavis has obvious talent and I'm looking forward to seeing future themes from her.

Tact: a keen sense of what to say or do to avoid giving offense; skill in dealing with difficult or delicate situations.

i agree with this..as a software developer i need to design my product to meet the masses, not just a few of them...especially when easy tweaks can correct a problem...my customers just wouldn't go for it..

great looking theme, as i've said, just unusable...

It's not 'broken' for me, since I don't use Opera.

Your interpretation of what 'broken' means differs since you choose to use certain 3rd party apps.

Let's be very careful not to turn this into bashing bette for creating and sharing this theme. Bette has already stated she will not be altering it to work with Opera. Move along.

i have been very careful...in fact, all that has been stated is constructive criticism, which is what we are supposed to provide when someone posts a new theme...i don't think anyone has "bashed" her at all...

I would like to thank you all for the feedback about the theme(s). However, as juwaack68, BBerryCurve8300 and Dawg all stated, this is a FREE theme and it is not 'broken'. I do not use OperaMini and as juwaack68 noted there are other BB users who do not use this application as well; thus we do not run into menu problems. As I stated before, the 'flickering' menus result from the use transparencies...this is a bug within the ThemeBuilder software itself, which will supposedly be addressed with the new upgrade (4.3) due out soon. I would also like to note that several other third-party apps work fine with this theme and its transparent menus, while OperaMini does not (may be time for an update...).

Nonetheless, I respect everyonexxx8217;s opinions and only ask that you respect mine in regards to the transparent menus staying the same in "Light Show". That is my final word on the matter.

There are plenty of free and commercial themes available across the internet, and I fully encourage everyone to test and find the ones suitable for them. Moreover, if you simply cannot find a theme that works for you, I recommend you do as I did...start making your own themes.

Thank You.

bettedavis, I really hope you don't throw up your hands and say screw it. I can't believe some of the comments you have received on posting a very nice free theme. You're sitting at your computer spending valuable time defending yourself. That has to be frustrating.

You've posted two themes (as far as I know). And both are very nice and very professional looking. As well as unique. As I previously mentioned, I'm looking forward to seeing more.

And another thought. I missed the memo that said we are supposed to provide 'constructive criticism' for every new theme that's posted. The memo I read said to enjoy the themes that are freely posted if liked and pass on to the next one if you don't.

Thanks...I don't plan to stop making themes anytime soon, but I may be a little more selective about the ones I choose to share with the community. It is a little frustrating having to defend myself on this matter...but I have decided to move on from the subject...I have enough stress in my life.

So far, I have only posted two themes here, but I've been making themes since last Fall. A link to my website is featured in my signature below.

I whole heartly agree, the OP did NOT ask for feedback.. Bottom line, if you don't like it and your not asked for feedback, don't give it.

Bette, keep up the great work, its much appreciated!!!

Thanks! I'm in the process of learning Photoshop and this theme really resulted from a new Vista Aero-like technique I just learned...

Just because you preface a very negative statement with "I'm not attacking you, but..." doesn't mean it won't come off as offensive, nor does it mean there won't be consequences for making the statement.

It's like people who make hate-filled speeches and hide behind the first amendment. You have the right to free speech, but it doesn't protect you from the consequences of what you say.
