Default 9700 keys not working all of a sudden

Please Login to Remove!

all of a sudden, i was trying to reply to a text and the M key wouldn't work... i thought at first i just missed it, but it wouldn't input... not knowing what it was, i did a battery pull... i should have thought things through before i did that...

when my phone booted up, it asked for my pin number, and wouldn't you know it, 2 of the keys i needed wouldn't work either... after some panicking, i found out my 'sym' key worked, and i could select the numbers with the trackpad... what a relief

anyway.... i have found out the Z C N M Space and the End keys will not function... what the crap is going on?

i didn't get it wet and i really doubt i got any moisture in the phone... i checked the indicator and it's white...

so i just called t mobile, and they will send me a replacement... i just had a crazy thought... i was thinking when the new phone comes, i could just keep my original battery cover, and then that got me thinking, could i dismantle both of them and just replace the parts... or is that too crazy?

Too crazy, they'd likely expect the other one back.

They have tamper proof seals... So, they will likely frown upon the returned device being dismantled..

Posting from my bb. I don't know what happened. I just gave up and just used the phone as well as I could, also finding out that the right convenience key which controls my camera didn't work either.

But NOW, it works. All of it works. Now I need to call t mobile and cancel the phone they're gonna send me. I'm wondering what the chances of this recurring will be

If they're sending you a new one, I'd go with it before this happens again.

Makes sense. Could have just been a glitch. What OS are you using?

Default language input ?

I have a simliar problem before when i switched input language (i.e trad chinese). Even tho i switched back to Eng after typing, the keypad doesn't recogize any inputs beside 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 0 in the main screen. So if your problem shows up again next time try to switch input lanaguage back to eng (united state) in the main screen.

Wirelessly posted

Maybe the skin has a warranty on it. I have the Clear-case skin and when I had to replace my 9700, I just peeled the old off and sent it back with a check for s&h and got replacement
