this is by design. it's not actually through BBM, it's just an improved interface to sms which includes threading.

its a bit annoying. my tech guy said same thing but the alert sound and new message icon will come up through bbm it doesnt show a new message in my message box at all just bbm i have sms and message box combined so i guess there is no way to get around it? i thought about deleting bbm but i do use it so would rather not. noticed on the storm with 5.0 comes up as sms not messenger is it design or you think its something thats quirky with .230

Unhappy Same issue

has anyone else encountered this?
RadHaz, I have the same issue. It cuts off in the middle of syncing my Slacker stations (although I've noticed that it'll resume from where it left off, it'll just be annoying to have to reconnect 8 or 9 times), as well as cuts off when transferring large media files. Have you been able to find a fix for this?

Thanks!

No, I've been waiting for another stable OS (and I'm not going to try .303 after seeing the reports on it). I find that it seems to occur a lot more often on Windows 7, however it does still occur on XP.

I'm inclined to think that it has less to do with Windows 7 than it does with the leaked OS itself. I was using my BB Tour with OS 4.7 that it came with for the past week on Windows 7 and it did media file transfers and Slacker station syncs just fine. It wasn't until immediately after I threw on 5.0.0.230 that the issue started happening.

Well hopefully there's a fix sooner or later, because this is a really annoying glitch!

After realizing that almost every link on the web was dead for .230, I finally got a copy and here it is for all...

BlackBerryTour9630-5.0.0.230.exe

I have loaded this OS successfully and it seems everything is working except my Sprint Navigation. I deleted it but the DL link icon will not reappear even after resending service books and the service book is present.

Anyone have the url the link icon points to so I can re-download it?

Much appreciated...again this is the Sprint telnav Navigation program

Download successful, the only issue was on step 10 of 11 my device was stuck on intializing, so I pulled the battery let it reboot and then it finshed the last step.

I am seeing a little faster browser and my BBM 5.0 is working flawless so far, I am going to tether later today and check my speed

I won't be able to get back on the BES until Monday but I will report back next week with an update

Happy new year all!

I just can't get it to work guys. I deleted vendor.xml and use Loader.exe but I'm not seeing 5.0. Any ideas?

I didn't run the loader.exe I just deleted the vendor file then opened BB desktop manager and once I plugged my BB in it asked to update to 5.0, did you try loading this way?

I was also able to do a BES reactivation and all went smooth as well with 5.0 loaded, I didn't notice the 3G in the corner just regular 1XEV. so far 2010 is looking great with the new software....
