I saw that article...you tweeted it this morning...what a shame...maybe at&t should invest in better network capacity instead.

I sure hope those 3% don't cause the casual data user to incur limits.

Unlimited data is just that. Sounds like 3% are using their device to its fullest.

ummm if 3% of users are using 40% of the network capacity. That's a little insane IMO.

That's like how they say 70% of the worlds wealth belongs to a 2% population.

That's a huge chunk from just 3% of users.

I say maybe handset manufactuers should make their devices alot of efficient. I know blackberry used to be real good on compresing data. Not sure if they still follow that old trend.

AT&T to choke your iPhone • The Register

This article mentions how AT&T are making an app that sends data back to them when there is a problem with coverage etc.

I wish they would be more specific in what they mean by "data hogs", over 5GB per month?

It's Iphone users...it was even discussed it came mostly from iphone users. They are pretty much talking about people who spend all day watching full HULU video episodes. It's killing the network. I agree with AT&T on this one.

If 96% of Iphone users are happily doing stuff and love the network and phone...Why should 3-4% of the iphone users be allowed to DRAG it down? And lets face it...it's probably kids with Iphones and nothing better to do.

Tweets are NOT bringing it down...it's constant video and audio streaming. I have no problem deciding what those 3-4 % data usage is. If They tend to use 6 gig a month...make that a new tier (6 gig a above a month). School Kids should have basic phones if they have them at all. I know I sound harse AND I'm not even that old...But I hate it when I see a 11 year old with an Iphone...

Hulu doesn't even work on the iPhone cause it requires Flash Player.
