Yes, that's the version. You can use JL_Cmder again.

Uninstall any later versions from your computer by going to control panel, Add/Remove programs.

Then install the 4.2.0.71 version to the pc.

Then delete vendor.xml ....again.

Then run DM and open Application Loader.

one thing when using JL_Cmder, does the wipe literally last like 2 seconds? thats what happens when i use it and i find it quite odd.

another thing, do you recommend and other OS thats newer than .71 but as stable?

Cingular/AT&T had .73 but it was the same OS with their theme changed to AT&T from Cingular.

I'd go with the 4.2.0.71.

The wipe doesn't take too long. Does the device display 507 when you're done?

If it says 507, it's done. Just make sure you removed the newer OS's from the computer. Otherwise you'll get the latest one loaded again.

alright, one more thing. after a wipe and reinstall, is it best to redownload 3rd party apps you had BEFORE restoring data through desktop manager?

I usually install 3rd party apps after everything else is working.

so i downgraded to .71 and everything works great again (except for opera beta 4 i get uncaught exception error which would work with new t-mobile .107)

why does my phone not like the new .107? anyone have any ideas?

There are many known issues with 4.2.1. IMO, RIM didn't put enough testing into it.

Red face

How is it that I'm singled out with this particular issue I had with it? Makes me question my installs etc and quite stressful since no one can relate

There could be a glitch that even a fresh OS cannot resolve. Or, you could be restoring the glitch each time. It is difficult to assess, true.

It could be a glitch of ONE of those third party applications interacting with the others. I would recommend adding the third-party apps one at a time, a few days apart to see if you noticed the glitch reoccuring. If you do this slowly and methodically, you might find the one app causing it. Perhaps.

Well the problem seemed to be some kind of interference when programs needed the apn settings. This worked/works fine with earlier OS so its weird no one else reported my problem. Only third party apps I use are opera and JiveTalk

I have actually. And with .107 JiveTalk had to be set to a BIS connection rather than TCP which works on .71 with no problem. And when an MMS would be sent/recieved and try using opera after it'd act like the apn settings were empty.
