Default Is it possible to suspend you mobile/wireless phone account (Rogers Wireless)?

Please Login to Remove!

Hello,

I'm planning on moving out of the country this coming summer for graduate studies and still have approximately 2 years remaining on my wireless contract with Rogers. I was wondering if it was possible to suspend an account for a period of one year. Upon return to Canada, I would recommence with that same contract and finish off the remaining 2 years. Would that be possible?

Regards,

A.

I can't speak for rogers but I know here in the US it can be done through ATT

Yes, it's possible - I believe that there is a charge of around $7 a month for a suspended account. Call customer service to confirm.

On rare occasions I've heard of carriers letting users out of contracts with no ETF in situations where they moved to an area with no coverage or to another country. Never hurts to ask!

Wirelessly posted (T-Mobile Blackberry Curve 8320)

I know T-Mobile offers that. so I'm sure the bigger carriers do too, I would call Rogers and ask them too.
All I know is that with T-Mobile you have to have been a customer for at least 3 months (90 days) before they'll let you suspend your account.

You don't know Rogers . . . there is likely a charge for asking

Hello again,

I have another question that relates to this:

If my contract is suspended on one carrier, while in another country, is it possible to use data and voice with another carrier? There must be a conflict as the PIN from on carrier is still assigned to them, no?

Would I have to clear my PIN with the first carrier? Or is it as simple as swapping SIM cars since my bb is unlocked?

Thanks!

A.
