I need some help. I had to clear the data of my BBM application since it was getting frozen all the time. After that, I signed in again with my BBID. However, my pin has changed and all my contacts are gone. How is it possible, should'nt my pin and contacts be tied to my BBID? I'm using BBM for Android. Thanks in advance

How did you "clear the data" ? If you reloaded the application after deleting it then all the information would be gone.

The usual reason an application locks up is due to low memory. If you have too many Apps that could cause it on any cell phone of any type.

Well, I used the "clear data" button on the application manager.

So, if what you said is true, then regardless of my BBID, all the data is gone?
That is a shame, especially since my other messenger applications just needed me to log in and no data is lost whatsoever.

What is the purpose of a BBID if it holds nothing in it?

(Sorry if it sounds like I'm whining, I actually only had like 30 contacts so re-adding them is not a problem. I'm just asking this to avoid future problems like this)

Where the data is stored is dependent on the application and the type of phone.
On a Blackberry the user does a backup and in most cases the data is recoverable.
I'm not sure how your Android keeps data and contacts but at least you know now for the future of this type of app on your phone.

BBM is the most secure messaging compare to others like WA, it stores the information on the server... you can still backup your data in your laptop, however if it's different bbid, it won't restore anyway...

Perhaps you can try to use other android device or BlackBerry device to restore your bbm data first...
