JJ Bauman has my sympathies and I woudl like to send a similar message myself. Scanning through Google, I find one firm after another marooned by this bloody software, unable to synchronise their field staff, failing about after this rumour and that suggestion made in well-meaning ignorance. Yet there is no FAQ, there no solution on offer, there s not even an acknowledgement of the plan.

When you do ask on a bulletin board, you either get snide little cracks - like motorbike mama, above, with its "15 hours doesn't sound long to me" and its ludicrous suggestion that you should use jl_cmder (misspelled), which is a utility used on the telephone OS, and thus of no relevance to misperforming desk-top software.

Hi not sure if this is the right place for this but I can connect to desktop manager however when I get to App loader add/remove new I get this

A fatal error has occurred while updating your device's software. Please try again.

I'm using an 8310 on Voda UK v4.2.2.146 All I am trying to do is get bbm and app store and a browser. I got given the phone and this is how it was.

Any help would be greatly received.

To the Mac OSX people, I'm using the mac BB desktop with OSX (10.6.7) and it will connect with my BB (8530). Have you tried it? Yes the desktop is pretty barebones but it works. I tried Missing Sync but it completely failed.

I have a curve 9330 that I have been using just fine for weeks. Yesterday I down loaded an app and today I get "Blackberry software cannot connect to device". This occurs both on my laptop and desk top and I have reinstalled the software and changed cables etc..

The only thing that for sure is happened in that I downloaded the MPR software onto my media/storarge card. Any ideas?

Try removing the downloaded software, do a Battery Pull....Device ON > Remove the battery > Count to 20 > Replace battery and allow to fully reboot

Better?

Hi. My BB has gone wrong after one too many drops. It is being sent back for repair/replacement but I have been advised to back-up pictures etc before sending it off as I won't get the phone back if they replace it. I have connected it to my PC, which doesn't recognuse the USB device and the BB desktop manager doesn't see the phone either. Any offers?

PS I have tried the above tips.

Hi,
I am also among the frustrated BB owners who cannot access Desktop Manager.
I have started working my way through all the above recommendations and, following Dubdub's instructions I accessed Device Manager (Windows 7). Under BlackBerry>BlackBerry Settings>General, I get the following message: "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)". How should I proceed with this?

Hi guys, I have a Blackberry Curve 9300 and every time I connect it to my computer via USB to put some songs on it, my computer doesn't recognize it. My phone charges and everything, but the file just doesn't pop up in My Computer. Just so you guys know I have media card support enabled (mass storage) on my phone and my phone does show in the devices and printers.
