So my phone recently got stolen and it was a MetroPcs . I got al craigslist to try and find a bargain, oh did i find one. "Brand new 2 week old blackberry 8330" . Its blue, i know the metro pcs 8330 are red, but he said it was rare. He said everything on it was perfect and it even had the plastic on both sides. So i got it today. As soon as i plug it into the wall a white screen with error code 507 is on it.

I called metro pcs and told them my problem, I gave them the MEID code from the back and they said it wasnt in theyre system..It has a different battery in it, not the original blackberry battery & no sim card slot JUST memory card.

all it does is turn on, blink red led, and make a sound when its plugged in, all the symptoms + 507 code pointed to OS error. i tried to follow guides and videos but i couldnt find a metro pcs OS download, is there even one out there?

Well i downloaded a sprint OS and tried it. and now it does all the same things except instead of 507 code its an hourglass, makes sound when plugged into PC and red light. I dont know what else to do.

Maybe the carrier isnt Metro? It doesnt have a SIM card slot so idk what else it could be.

8330 is a cdma phone, so it doesnt have a sim card slot.

So it could be any carrier?

No, it limited to 2 US carriers that I know of, Im not sure there are any other CDMA carriers outside the US.

Verizon, Sprint.

However, if your previous phone was a 8330, that means metro pcs is also a cdma carrier so the whole sim card thing shouldn't matter.

For a 507 error, you need to reload the OS

I tried but how do i get an OS download for metro?

You don't.
You install any OS.

Check the yellow sticky at the top of the 8300 section. You will an OS for your specific model - i.e. the 8330. Doesn't have to be a MetroPCS OS.

Nope. on the last part if the application loader on step 4 "loading applications" it says its unable to connect with device. Im lost what can i do now ? :\ Kept retrying to connect from that point, but it says the same thing.

Okay, so now its still stuck in the rebboot sequence, but instead of 507 it goes to an hourglass then a white screen that says Blackberry Platform 3.4.059 with the Option and saved messages options..after a couple seconds it continues to reboot.

Sounds like you bought a bad BlackBerry off of Craigslist.
