Two minor issues with MSN and twitter

1) I can't change my Windows Live Messenger display picture on my blackberry. It takes my picture from the desktop WLM, as i have asked my friends what my picture is, but on the blackberry itself, highlighting my own name at the top, I can see no picture.
I want to be able to change it on BB, why isnt it working?
I can for yahoo messenger...
2) I downloaded the Official twitter for blackberry beta leak. I CANT see any profile icons (just the default silhouette). Others can.
It doesn't work for UberTwitter either (i get a 403 error), but on other twitter clients like TweetGenius, i can.
Whats going on?
