I for some reason can not get my BB 8100 to update to the 4.5.0.55. I have App Version: 4.2.1.107. I have downloaded the file, installed the file, deleted the vendor.xml file, connected the blackberry, opened DM and it checks for updates, then just connects like normal. It won't let me update to this version. I even tried version 4.5.0.52 and that didn't work. I don't have a sim card in it because I don't have a carrier on the phone yet. Will that make it so I can't upgrade? I don't see why it would, but you never know. I will have a carrier on the phone in about a month, so if I have to wait, I have to wait. This is going to be a secondary phone for me. I have an 8130 that I have had for a while that I have been messing with and updating and whatnot, it's working just fine. This 8100 is woopin' my ass though. I have tried the .52 version and the .55 version and neither one will update for me. I have double and triple checked and made sure that I deleted the vendor.xml file, removed and reinstalled each version at least 3 times with no success. Please help. Let me know if you guys have some ideas. Thanks.

Instead of using the DTM, navigate to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader\ use "loader.exe" to update. It is a quick way to update without the dtm and usually fixes these problems

That is a very old version of 4.5. Is there a reason you're upgrading to that version?
