Default WiFi not working

Please Login to Remove!

Hi, already tried to browse your database for a solution but there is no real help coming up yet.

I have an issue...I am trying to connect to my WiFi router but it looks like the it is not connecting. When looking into connection manager my network is confirmed with a green hook (Orange UK) on the right hand side. Bluetooth is enabled and active as well but WiFi is coming up with a yellow circle with a dash in its middle. My routers name was found and is visible, I was also able to enter WEP/WPA information but does not look like its connecting. Have already changed browser settings to Wifi but its still connecting using GPRS.

Any ideas? All other devices (laptop, internet radio) are connecting to WiFi without any issues.

Thanks in advance
Marc

Wirelessly posted (8320 Titanium)

Try disabling your security on the router for a moment and then connect the bb to it as an open network. If it connects then, you may just have to play around with different security settings to get them to play nice together. First thing I'd try is making it an open network and see if you can get it to work though.

from the main menu

go to the options menu>>advanced options>> browser>>default browser configuration, and select "hotspot browser"

also in the options menu go to>>mobile network>>data services and select "on"

then go to setup>>wi-fi setup(same place where you can scan for a connection), there is a button at the bottom which reads "wi-fi hotspot login". once you have your wi-fi setup(as you already have), go there and click that button. you will get a message stating that you are now connected to the internet. now when you load your browser app(i like opera mini) it will function as it should.

to ensure you are actually using the wi-fi connection(and not the service providers connection) try it with your mobile network disabled and only your wi-fi enabled. that is under 'manage conections'

PS. i have a pearl flip (8220)

reply if this helps you, since i just figured it out on my phone.

I couldn't get my 8900 to get "UMA" for a few days until I upgraded my firmware to the latest build.

My router is a WRT 110 and the latest build is Ver.1.0.05 (Buid 03). If anyone has the same router, you can get the update at
