What distro do you use??

Sorry if I forgot any as there are so many I will limit it to the main ones... Please list your version as well...

I am on Linux Mint 4.0 with E17 on top..

I use debian lenny on my satellite m65-s809 and etch on my ever so old coppermine celeron at 600mhz server, I used ubuntu for a bit but when I found out ubuntu is based off debian unstable it made me want to try out the real deal and I haven't looked back.

I use Arch. I loke the rolling upgrade plans. I have also installed Gentoo on a Sun E450

I am a Novell SuSe user, and forever will be....but am kind of shocked Sabayon Linux isn't on the poll. An incredible distro, but its wayyyyy to large of an OS.

Ubuntu 7.10 on my Lenovo Think Pad. I've tried Suse, PC Linux and Mandriva. Ubuntu is the easiest and most supported of all the distros.

I loved and used openSuse for years.... Then came their deal with the devil and it turned me off, along with many, many other of their long time users and supporters...

I DL and install their new releases just to see what they are up to but will NEVER use them as my distro of choice again...

Finally took the time to repartition my drive. I now have a triple boot system with XP Pro, Vista Business, and Ubuntu 7.10.

I use Ubuntu. All day everyday.. Well with the exception of work.. Have to use RHE5.
But as another user said in a different post ... apt-get is the greatest. I never got the hang of yum...

Just picked up my Blackberry Pearl 8130 a few hours ago - after finding this list last evening and confirming Linux compatibility. Also acquired a UTStarcom/Franklin UM-150AL USB Wireless card, which is also Linux compatible.

I have been using Puppy Linux for several years, terrific distro. I settled on Puppy after trying a ton of others. Two new features include compatibility with Slackware apps and what are called ".pup's" What this means is that when you want to add a new app you find where someone has packaged it into a "foobar.pup" and just click on it - it autoloads!

Puppy is at Version 3.01 and there are dozens of "Puplets", spin-offs optimized for various specialization, e.g. TEENPup, ChurchPup, GrapPup, etc.

A parallel development is Version 4.x which is stripped down to an absolute minimum upon which one may build a super-customized "Puplet".

Hey Edoc great minds think alike, i too just purchased an 8130 today, I'm running pclinuxos, but have vast experience with slackware, can't believe it wasn't even listed. I haven't tried puppy but I hear that usb wireless works outa the box

Using Netbeans to develop Java applications for my 8130 just for fun. If anyone has any ideas for apps they'd like to see, let me know. No promises, but if any seem interesting I may give it a shot.

Gentoo on my laptop (which got the vote), Fedora on my desktop & personal server, mostly Solaris & RHEL at work.

XP Pro and OpenSuse 10.3 dual Boot on my personal laptop.
XP Pro and Mandriva Free 2008 dual boot on a work laptop.
XP Pro and Sabayon 3.4f dual boot a work Dell 380 desktop.
Plus I keep playing with another set of LiveCDs such as
PCLOS, SimplyMepis, eLive, OpenGEU.
Wish I could put my mind more into Linux and CLI
than being stuck with MS Windows and GUI (at work)!

But, OpenSuse got my vote since I was an early adapter of
Suse from the 9.0 days before Novell grabbed it.
